The reason why an individual has complete control over his destiny is that he has the power to influence his own subconscious mind and manifest his desired reality.
The Principle of Autosuggestion
Autosuggestion, simply put, is self-suggestion or self-induced suggestions and intentions that are transmuted to your mind. It is the vehicle by which you transmit thoughts from your conscious mind to your subconscious mind.
The reason autosuggestion is such a powerful principle is because of its ability to influence your subconscious mind. Whether they be good or bad, all-dominating thoughts that are held by the conscious mind will eventually reach the subconscious mind through this principle of autosuggestion.
Understanding Facts
Thought creates physical reactions. Everything you think, every emotion, every idea, causes a reaction within your body. Every thought or idea whether positive or negative generates a response in terms of the release of hormones and neurotransmitters into the brain.
We attract what we expect. We become what we think about – good or bad. Our brain and nervous system respond to mental images. Whether these images are imagined or real, the nervous system will respond the same way. If you expect to lose, you are focusing your mind and body on that.
We’re all made up of stories. In fact, life is one long narrative and we’re all writing the chapters. Whether these chapters are deliberately controlled by us or we go with the flow in the web of life. One thing holds true we are consumed by thoughts and what consumes our mind controls our life.
The Secrets of the Mind
Everything begins in the mind. You are exactly who you are today because of what you believe about yourself and what you have manifested through those beliefs.
Scientifically, the brain’s system for manifesting this reality is known as the Reticular Activating System (RAS). The RAS acts as a filter between your conscious mind and subconscious mind, it brings relevant information to what is experienced and what enters the mind. The resulting input is perception.
How RAS can help you achieve your goals?
You can deliberately program your RAS! Some ways of doing this are through saying affirmations and visualizing your goals in positive ways. What is needed is the creation of a very specific picture of your goal in your conscious mind.
Imagine it and put focus and energy into your thoughts in the form of a vision that you believe in.

“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you focus on what you imagine, and at last, you create what you focus.”
George Bernard Shaw.
Your Imagination is More Powerful than Reason or Knowledge
Our body doesn’t differentiate between what is real and what is imagined, so our body will produce what our mind believes. According to Albert Einstein- “Reason is easily overturned by the imagination”. Meaning, if you believe something to be real or true, that is more powerful than the actual truth.
Our imagination can either work for us or against us, yet we often allow it to do the latter due to limiting beliefs.
A limiting belief is a state of mind, conviction, or belief that you think to be true that limits you in some way. This limiting belief could be about you, your interactions with other people, or with the world and how it works.
How to use the Power of Autosuggestion to Induce Imagination
If you have not programmed yourself with new goals – you will automatically strive towards the goals that are placed in your subconscious.
Guess what they are and where they come from? They come from your environment. These programs may be both positive and negative, depending on the people surrounding and influencing you.
The Law of Autosuggestion is one tool that you can use to change yourself and your life.
However, its effectiveness depends on:
- The amount of emotion you place behind your suggestions
- The amount of repetition you use with your suggestions
Changes to Make

Changing the way we think and do things is one of the most difficult things we can do. When we do something for the first time, we try to find a rhythm and adapt ourselves to it.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Here are ten essential things you should change in your life to get what you want.
- Change your priorities
- Change your self-talk
- Change your habits
- Change your motivation
- Change your mindset
- Change your commitments
- Change your inputs
- Change your methods
- Change your friends
- Change your way of spending
Where to start? Sell Yourself to Yourself
“Your most important sale in life is to sell yourself to yourself.” — Maxwell Maltz
1. Sincerely Believe In Yourself
Believing in yourself will open up endless possibilities. At times you may find this difficult to do. The truth is that we’ve been conditioned throughout our lives to doubt ourselves.
Everything you have in your life is a result of your belief in yourself and the belief that it’s possible.
Take these steps:
- Push through self-limiting beliefs
- Never confuse memory with facts
- Positive Self-talk
- Surround yourself with positive successful mentors
- Overcome self-doubt
- Face your fears
In order to believe in yourself, you first have to believe that what you want is possible. Confidence is an essential quality in today’s world — it shows that you have faith in yourself, trusts in the value you have to offer.
It is a fact that you cannot convince others of your awesomeness if you don’t believe it yourself! Beneath your low self-esteem hides an incredible and praiseworthy person, so lift the curtain up.
2. Visualize: See What You Want, Get What You See
Visualizing daily will naturally make you more motivated to reach your goals. You’ll start to notice you are unexpectedly doing things that move you closer to your ideal life.
You will soon find yourself seeking new tasks, becoming more proactive, and taking more risks in your personal and professional life which brings you closer to your goals
Focus on Productivity and Build new habits. Take baby steps forward consistently. Learn as you go through the process. Success is cumulative.
3. Imagination is Key

The ability to imagine things pervades our entire existence. It influences everything we do, think about, and create. It leads to elaborate goals and dreams in any aspect of our personal and professional lives. Ultimately, imagination influences everything we do regardless of our status.
So think for a moment and reflect on how you could use your imagination more effectively and deliberately.
The more you use your imagination, the stronger your ‘imagination muscle’ will become. You will be pleasantly surprised as you use this ability and tap into this rich source of infinite possibilities.
Have a clear vision of what the end result looks like, While it seems like you are starting with the end in mind, a lot of times people don’t have a clear vision of what they would like to achieve, and how to get there. You need to have a strong, clear vision and most importantly, know why your vision is so important to you.
4. Reinvention
The task of reinventing yourself is not easy. However, reinvention, lifestyle design, self curation is key to success. The ability to adjust, evolve, develop skills, and embrace change as you progress through life determines just how much you achieve both inside and outside.
An amazing fact: Some of the world’s most successful individuals have constantly reinvented themselves during their lifetimes.
5. Focus on Yourself
When you think about it, the only constant in your life is YOU. And yet, many of us struggle to accept – let alone love – ourselves for who we truly are.
When we focus on ourselves, we build self-love, self-care, and acceptance. This helps enforce positive thoughts, feelings, and actions.
- Practice Self-Love
- Try New Things
- Cultivate a Healthy Lifestyle
- Nurture Your Self-Esteem
- Don’t Neglect Yourself
6. Practice Makes Perfect
What’s written on paper is not set in stone, there’s always room for improvement. Don’t lay idly around while you wait for the perfect opportunity to present itself. You need to sharpen your saw, you need to be persistent and consistent- opportunity might just be around the corner and you better be ready when it comes around.
Success occurs when opportunity meets preparation- Zig Ziglar
Are you ready?
In life, self-belief is the most powerful skill you can acquire. You have plenty of reasons to have faith in who you are and what you can do.
If you are having a hard time, then leverage the law of autosuggestion and instill in your mind your ability to change and grow. Have a strong sense of self. You were born to be the person you desire to be so don’t sell yourself short.

The subconscious mind is the part of your mind that controls all of your automatic functions. It controls your breathing, heart rate, digestion, and a number of other things that you don’t have to think about.
For most people, it can be hard to get in touch with the subconscious mind. But if you can learn how to do so, you can use it to manifest anything you want in your life.
